Ken Warner
I have two great passions in my life ... politics and writing. And, I am fortunate to have life experiences that have allowed me to do both. I’ve worked on political campaigns in one way or another since I was 18 years old. I’m retired now after three decades of political action and working for labor unions on behalf of working families in the construction industry. I closed out that part of my career as Upstate Political Director for the Working Families Party. Throughout that time, I’ve worked on or led over 100 campaigns.
Now, along with Cate, my partner of ten years, I live in a cabin in Fair Haven, NY on the North Coast of America. We sail, we fish, we cook and I write. First as a regular contributor to about a dozen publications on MEDIUM where I’ve been cited several times as Top Political Writer. And in addition, I work on my book, How to Win Campaigns that Can’t Be Won, a collection of essays gathering the knowledge I’ve gained over a lifetime of political campaigning.
I’m still a true believer, an Idealist, and an activist. I hope the Team Blue Strategy Podcast can inspire a new generation of candidates, campaign leaders, and activists to continue the battle to save America.
Peter Iglinski
Peter Iglinski has made communications his life’s work. After three decades in broadcast journalism, he heeded the call of academia and became a press/communications officer at the University of Rochester, where he spent 14 years promoting the university nationally and coaching faculty on how to work with the news media. If one college-setting was good, two were better—which is why he also became a public speaking instructor at Nazareth University.
While working in broadcast journalism, Peter was elected to three terms as president of Public Radio News Directors Incorporated (PRNDI), a national journalism organization. He’s most proud of establishing a national training program for public radio journalists and organizing the first national conference on public radio talk shows.
His background in radio, coupled with his involvement in Toastmasters International, prompted Peter to become a public speaking coach. In 1999 he started Speech Repair to help people with their verbal communication skills.
In his not-so-spare time, Peter earned his master’s degree in linguistics at the University of Rochester with a research focus on the phonology of conversational speech.
Peter is married to Julia Figueras, retired classical music director at WXXI in Rochester, NY. They have two adult daughters, Molly and Maggie, as well as a little black feline named Jiji. Peter and Julia enjoy reading, art, music, casual birdwatching, the Boston Red Sox, and (for the most part) whatever Peter creates on his Weber grill.
